Make giving gifts and greetings really special my creating handmade cards and boxes. Our simple papercraft guide makes it easy to design your own gift boxes using Signo gel pens
Signo gel pens are fantastic for colouring in and all manner of paper projects. The pens’ quality ink allows colour to really sing out from whatever colour paper or card you use them on. So we put these Signo gel pens to the test by whipping up a set of greetings, gift boxes and tags on the black card just to show off how brilliant they are.
Our easy lidded box template is ideal for making mini favours or for presenting little gifts or sweets, you can also photocopy if you want to make larger or smaller versions. Our simple motifs are a breeze to recreate, which means you can whip up a whole collection of beautiful paper creations in hardly any time at all – perfect for a satisfying crafternoon.
First DOWNLOAD YOUR TEMPLATE: BOX templates
1: MAKE A BOX
Cut out the box and lid templates and transfer onto your card by tracing around it using a pencil and ruler, scoring the fold lines with the back of a pair of scissors. Cut out the shapes from the card and lie flat.
2: MAKE A CARD
Take a section of the card and trim down to your chosen size and fold in half. Create a smooth crease by running the back of a pair of scissors along the spine.
3: TRACE YOUR MOTIFS
Using the template you have downloaded, trace your chosen motifs onto tracing paper and transfer onto your greeting card, tag and box shape. If you are unsure about how to trace, follow our guide here.
4: COLOUR
Use the Signo pens to go over the traced design. First, create an outline then fill in areas to your taste.
5: EMBELLISH
Add interest by applying white or silver highlights with your SIGNO or little dots and hearts.
6: ASSEMBLE
Fold up the scored lines and tabs to make the box and the lid. Secure with double-sided tape applied to the tabs.
