The paint marker contains water-based pigment ink which is lightfast, water resistant and will write on almost any surface. POSCA pens are also permanent and bleed-proof on paper and card (as it absorbs into the fibres), and can be made permanent on the following:
– Terracotta – bake at 220°C for 45 minutes, then spray with clear varnish
– Porcelain – bake at 160°C for 45 minutes, then spray with clear varnish
– Glass – bake at 160°C for 45 minutes then spray with clear varnish
– Textiles – iron on reverse
– Metal, stone, leather, plastic and wood – spray with clear varnish

Watch and follow

We’ve got a trio of easy to follow drawing videos where you can make the most of your POSCA paint markers and whip up some love-themed creations. Ranging from super easy to ones that require a little more skill, our three fun POSCA projects for Valentines should get you in the mood for love.

The first of our three Valentines projects films is a demonstration on how to create an alternative loving greeting. We think alternative souls would love this anchor greeting using our POSCA Deep colours. We’ve also got some written step by steps on our blog. Check it out here.

Here’s number two of our three fun POSCA projects for Valentines day – a lovely lovebird gift box. We love the way the POSCA deep colours pop on this black background but there’s nothing stopping you from choosing your favourite POSCA shades for your love doves!

And, if you don’t fancy a full-on drawing session how about this ceramic mug Valentine’s update?

We’ve all got random plain mugs in the back of our cupboards and, because POSCAS paint on ceramic, these mugs can be pimped up to make a lovely simple surprise on Valentine’s morning.

You make a simple heart-shaped stencil with a sticky note and then apply dots with different sized POSCA nibs around your shape. We used shades of pink and red with 5m and 3m POSCA markers but you can use any colours or nib sizes you like!

Once you’re happy with your various-sized spots use a fine 1m POSCA pen to draw in a simple initial on the mug. Then fill a paper bag with sweets or other treats and place inside the mug. You can wash the POSCA off to re-use or to make permanent you can put in the oven at 160 degrees for 45 minutes and spray with varnish. Check out how we did it below…
