Corporate Social Responsibility

Our Philosophy

Here at uni-ball we are committed to making innovative products that allow you to write and create; and for every product that we make, from rollerballs to paint markers, we prioritise two core values: quality and safety.
We use high quality materials and manufacture everything ourselves from the plastic barrel to the ink inside of our pens to ensure that our products are durable and reliable and so they meet our own very high standards. We also ensure that all of our products meet British Standards (BS 7272) and are fitted with safety caps with air holes incorporated to reduce risk around small children.

Our Environment

Uni-ball aim to contribute towards environmental preservation by pursuing corporate activities in harmony with the global environment.
For example many of our pens, markers and mechanical pencils are made using recycled or sustainable materials. In fact, the majority of our rubber pen grips are made using off cuts of wood and resin created by the manufacturing of some of our other products.
We also use fully recyclable card made from sustainably managed woodland and recycled plastics for all of our packaging. Waste paper produced by our Milton Keynes based office is shredded and is used in our distribution process instead of bubble wrap or foam to reduce our usage of disposable plastics.

Uni-ball – Proud supporters of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Children and education are core to our business, therefore we feel that it is important that we give back to those who support us and we are delighted to announce our new partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

With over 255,000 patient visits every year, Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the top five paediatric research hospitals in the world, treating children from all over the UK and abroad with very complex and often life-threating conditions. Amazing things happen every day at Great Ormond Street Hospital, but it is only with the support of the charity that the hospital is able to stay at the forefront of global paediatric healthcare. Through our partnership with the charity, we are helping to support their key funding areas: purchasing highly specialist equipment, funding ground breaking researching and the hospital’s major redevelopment and supporting family and patient care programmes which includes educational support.

From June 2016 for each branded twin black ink or triple black ink pack of our bestselling Eye sold, uni-ball will donate 20p plus VAT to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and have guaranteed a minimum donation of £50,000. As part of our partnership, we will also be donating writing and art and craft supplies to doctors, teachers and play staff at the hospital.
