Pantone 2020 Colour of the Year, Classic Blue
We’re celebrating the announcement of Pantone 2020 Colour of the Year, Classic Blue with our POSCA pens.
Classic Blue: Setting the trends
The Pantone 2020 colour of the year is always greeted with great interest by trend-setters and designers. This is because it usually sets the agenda for future design, interior and fashion looks.
The influential company announced its 2020 colour of the year at the end of 2019. The Classic Blue colour is described by Pantone as “a reassuring presence instilling calm, confidence and connection”.
It continues… “this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era”.
Working Classic Blue with POSCA pens
We know the beauty of blue with POSCA pens. Hence the reason we have such a wide selection of blue shades available with our POSCA paint markers.
You can inject some Classic Blue into your art and craft projects.
The Pantone 2020 Colour of the Year is particular shade of blue. It has a deep, almost navy hue, reminiscent of the night sky. We think it’s reflected beautifully using our POSCA 3M Navy Blue as seen on these hand-painted ceramics above. We’ve also mixed our blue 8K with black 7m to provide a beautiful base on the wooden coasters below.
Classic blue combos
We think Pantone 2020 Colour of the Year, Classic Blue works really well with luxurious POSCA metallics. So much so we gave our dishes a base of gold and silver with our POSCA brush tips then worked our gem line illustrations with the navy blue POSCA paint marker.
We’ve continued this theme by painting wooden coasters with a mix of classic blue 8K with black 7m and overlaying with gold POSCA brush butterflies. Then we worked in the reverse using the gold and navy.
Classic blue, much loved by artists
Blue is an enduring favourite of artists. So why not give blue a go and try whipping up a set of artworks with your blue POSCAs?
