Gardening is good for you and great for little ones too! And we have some brilliant ways to get your kids to be green-fingered with uni-ball pens.

Gardening with kids is brilliant. It is great to get little ones outdoors, through encouraging children to do some simple gardening they can learn new skills, have fun, play and develop self-confidence. Children enjoy digging in the soil, getting dirty, creating things and watching plants grow. You can get your kids to be even more engaged with the process with the help of uni-ball pens.

Get kids growing

Children learn from growing things. So why not get your little ones to enjoy every step of the process by getting them to decorate little seed boxes. Kids can be creative with their seed boxes with drawings of blooms for flower seeds and veg for foodie pods. Getting children to plant seeds teaches them about patience as they wait for things to grow. It also teaches them about nutrition and learning about where fresh food comes from.

A good grounding

Gardening is supremely educational for kids; it teaches responsibility as it encourages caring for plants. The practice also enables children to learn about cause and effect (for example, plants die without water, weeds compete with plants).  So get little hands to label plants stakes and pots with uni-Chalk markers so that children can identify what they’ve grown and be invested in each stage of the gardening process.

Making a record

It is noted that gardening improves self-confidence in children as little ones can achieve their goals. Why not give your kids the chance to track their progress by making a gardening journal? Use mini A6 journals for tiny hands to jot down what and when they’re planting and to track how their plants are doing on a weekly basis. Make the task more fun my utilising the wide range of uni-Eye pen colours so trackers are bright and colourful.
