Winter Blues Craft Ideas

With another cold snap on the way, we’ve come up with some craft ideas for adults to warm the soul and keep the winter blues firmly at bay.

If like many of us the dark, cold and often wet winter months make you feel down in the dumps, remember you are not alone!

The good news is that getting involved with crafts is likely to make you forget the blues and rejoice in your creations. Here is a great ‘Me, Me, Me,’ blog post about ‘the benefits of crafting when you’re feeling low.

In the blog post Cath Janes from Kraken Kreations says that ‘crafting’ helped with her recovery from mental illness.

Kath says: “When I started recovering I found that I needed something to do with my time. I felt a deep urge to be creative.

“My first trip to a fabric shop was utterly overwhelming. It replaced the heaviness of depression with a feeling of joy. It was fleeting, but enough to make me want to know and do more.”

What Winter Craft Ideas Are There For Adults?

The mental health charity Mind encourages it’s supporters to talk about mental health at the same time as crafting at their fundraising ‘Crafternoons’.
