Four fab ways to journal!

Journaling is uber-popular right now, with sales of plain and lined jotters and notebooks going through the roof. Scrapbooks and journals are a fab way of documenting your life; making a bullet journal to record your interests, reflect on those special moments and capture a moment in time. Making an art journal is a brilliant way of perfecting your drawing and honing your handwriting too – and it’s ideal for working on your mindfulness. Why not give journaling a try? Here are four ideas to get you started…

1:  Beautiful birds

Get outdoors and explore the flora and fauna that come into your garden. Here we’ve used the fabulous collection of colours you get with Uni-ball EYE to document our favorite domestic birds. Practice your observational drawing skills and make pen sketches of your birds as practice – it’s great fun and very therapeutic. If you want to learn more about avian illustration check out our bird drawing video here…

2: Scrumptious scrapbooking

What better way to document a day out then by freeing your images from your phone, printing them out and getting them into an album? Make bullet points of the things that captured your interest and be playful with your choice of journal paper and pens. Here we’ve combined POSCAs and SIGNO gel pens to create a botanical bullet journal and scrapbook spread.

3: Lovely lists!

The foundation of any good bullet journal is a list. So give your lists some life by using black and blue EYE pens to jot them down, then frame with a simple motif around your ‘to-dos’ and anticipate how satisfied you’ll be when you tick them off. Check out our different journaling motif ideas here…

4: Go mono

Use your PIN pens to get drawing and add interest to your personal journal. An illustrated bullet journal is a thing of wonder so be playful and create a black and white themed page featuring illustrations of the things you love. We’ve made this one documenting all the flora and plant life we see on a woodland walk – what theme will yours take?
