Black PIN pen nibs have expanded from 14 to 18 calibrated tip sizes. The standard black PIN nib shapes range from delicate 0.03 to robust 1.2 nib. There is also a firm expressive brush tip plus an Extra Fine brush tip made with real bristles. Black PIN pen nibs now boast three new chisel tips for calligraphy.
This range of sizes and shapes allows for a plethora of exciting creative possibilities with drawing and hand-lettering.
Very fine lines
One of the wonderful things about our Black PIN pen nibs is you can work in very delicate fine lines, which is great for illustrations such as fur, feathers and very fine wispy botanical finishes. Although this list is by no means exhaustive!
The image above shows work made with 0.03, 0.05 and 0.1 standard black nibs. You can see the slim quality of these small tip sizes.
You can see the contrast here when we add the 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 sizes. Observe the difference between the standard tips and the lines the make. This range in nib sizes give you so many creative options.

Robust drawing!
Our thicker PIN nib sizes in 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0 and 1.2 standard shape tips are fantastic for strong, robust drawing and outlining. The latter nib sizes are featured in our Bold and broad pack which contain Black PIN: 0.9,1.0,1.2 nibs.

Specialist nibs
We also now have three new chisel tips in 1.0mm, 2.0mm 3.0mm sizes. This variation in neat chisel tip size options allows for a range of different writing styles and overall finish.
If that wasn’t enough we have a fab new Extra Fine brush. This is in addition to our already popular brush. They are both great for brush drawing and beautiful brush lettering. You can see above how the addition of these tips add an extra flourish to the overall piece.
