Are you going to join us for Upfest 2022?
After a three-year break Upfest is back! This weekend, over 28-29th May 2022.
A street art celebration!
The Bristol based two-day celebration of all things street art looks to be a real treat. We’re so happy to be sponsoring the whole event.
We’ll be in the city’s Greville Smyth Park representing POSCA paint markers with artist Scott Walker. Come and see us and have a go at customising items with POSCA, make your own art or simply colour-in Scott’s amazing murals!
Upfest 2022 brings together street art’s freshest talents. Expect to see incredible murals and hundreds of artists painting live with festival hubs at Tobacco Factory and Ashton Gate Stadium. Greville Smyth Park will be the festival’s main venue so when you come to see us you’ll be surrounded by music and live painting across the weekend.
Great artists
We have the fantastic Scott Walker with us over the weekend who will be creating an interactive mural with us.
Scott is a UK based artist and illustrator with professional experience in festivals and events. Scott’s interactive murals draw inspiration from contemporary character design, outsider art and urban street culture. He’s done loads! From the St George’s Day pavements of Dagenham with Billy Bragg to a residency in the lofty ION art gallery in Singapore, Scott breaks down preconceptions about art and brings out the colour in adults and children alike. His shows invoke the riotous atmosphere of urban underground art mixed with mad cap humour and comic-book mischief.
While you’re at Upfest 2022 why not check out some of our friends who are also creating live art around the city?
One of our favourites is SPZero. We work with him loads because he has such an engaging and authentic illustrative style. Go see his amazing trio ‘After the Robot Apocalypse’ comic mural designs in the city.
And say hello to our London Stationery Show 2022 guest artist Roots. She’ll be drawing a wonderful kawaii-inspired illustrations that you are sure to love!
From west to east
If you’re not in the area but love street art. There is another festival taking place east side of the country. Take a look at the Concrete Canvas Chelmsford Street Art Festival, which we are happy to be one of the sponsors.
The city centre will become the canvas for some incredible murals, created by a line-up of internationally-renowned street artists alongside some of Chelmsford’s very own talented artists. Artists include favourites such as Brennan and Burch (pictured), Brave Arts and Dank.
It is hoped the project will bring a new lease of life to previously ‘blank’ space whilst creating a trail of street art that will remain for all to enjoy.
On Saturday 28th May, there will be a party to celebrate the completion of Chelmsford’s newest pieces of street art. You can go for free and expect a line-up of live graffiti, DJs, art fair, a public drawing wall, street art inspired donuts, spray paint workshops, record stalls, graffiti style face paint, live dance and music.
