Next week we’re back to school! While we’re sure you’ve organised everything, we’ve got five back to school essentials you’ll need for the term ahead.
1 Super Ink Marker
You know what a pain it can be labelling and marking up all school stuff at the start of every term. We promise you that our Super Ink Marker makes it easier.
The Super Ink Marker is a fantastic NO SEW option for marking up your kid’s clothes and sports kit. This pen works permanently on fabric. You can simply write on direct and say goodbye to fiddly iron-on labels or long sewing sessions.
Things like water bottles and lunch boxes can be clearly marked with your Super Ink Marker. The pen glides on all kinds of melamine, clear and solid plastic, fabric and metal with ease so you can label your little one’s things in no time.
Plus, because the Super Ink Marker goes on with such ease and has a neat precision tip, you can be a bit creative too. So many permanent markers are bulky and clumsy, but the Super Ink Marker’s fine line allows you to be a little bit creative with your marking up.
2 Uni-ball Eye
So why do we think the uni-ball Eye is a great classroom pen and one of our back to school essentials?
Well, the uni-ball Eye works on every level, it’s smart looking, the ink is flowing and the nib writes smoothly on the page. It really won’t let you down.
The Eye Fine is a particularly smart choice for students. Its precision 0.7mm nib is excellent for clear, precise handwriting. So it’s a great pen for when you want to perfect your writing clarity. The strong robust line is great for those who take pride in seeing clean written words on the page.
On a practical level the pens handy ink window in the barrel to indicate your ink levels, makes sure you won’t get caught out. So, while the ink flows until the very last drop, you’ll also know in good time when you need to replace your pen.
The Eye Fine contains uni Super Ink which is fade-free, water resistant and tamper proof. This makes the pen ideal for all manner of uses from list-making and study notes. So those notes are going to last, which means you can refer to them time and again – great for revision and assessing past work. The lasting quality of the written ink on the page also makes the pen ideal for important documents such as exams.
Eye Fine also comes in a wide range of colours, check them out in the video below…
3 POSCA paint markers
Get some colour into the classroom with POSCA paint markers, one of the best back to school essentials for creativity.
POSCA pens are non toxic so are therefore ideal for school use. POSCA’s paint is water-based, odourless, made without alcohol or solvents. So they are safe to use in the classroom. In fact, POSCA is so safe that beekeepers in the United States use POSCA markers to identify the queen in beehives.
POSCAs are paint in a pen. This means you have all the creative uses of paint but with the control of a pen. Consequently you don’t have to wash brushes or worry about any spillages. It also enables you to build up mark-making confidence as a pen is easier to control than a brush.
Because you can treat your POSCAs just like paint, when one colour dries you can overlay with details, outlines and highlights. Plus while your POSCA is fresh and wet, you can blend it with a brush or sponge, or mix with another POSCA. Another benefit is that if you blend one POSCA colour with another, you haven’t spoiled the nib. With the 3M and 5M nib sizes you can simply remove the nib from the barrel and wash it under the tap to refresh.
The multi-surface ability of the pens make POSCA great value as one pen has a multitude of uses in the classroom. You can use the pen for a wide range of projects and activities, from practical to creative. See our surface guide video here…
Why not try some POSCA paint markers in the classroom today? You could start with a bit of rock painting or get the pupils to design their own mug. The possibilities are endless. Take a look at our guide to POSCA pens here…
3 The Jetstream 3
A no-smudge pen is ideal for a left-handed student or a pupil who likes to jot things down super quick.
The Jetstream 3 has three retractable rollerball nibs in one pen barrel so you can write in red, black or blue.
The Jetstream 3 gives you so much more than a regular tricolour rollerball pen. Its hybrid Jetstream ink contains a special solvent for fast writing that reduces friction on the page by 40 per cent. This in turn gives you a smooth, even writing experience.
The pen’s fast flowing ink dries nine times faster than a standard ballpoint so there’s less smudging, making the pen ideal for left-handers. And, whatever hand you write with or colour ink you choose, you can be sure that the pen’s 1.0mm ball will provide a strong, flowing line. In our book, an ideal back to school essential.
